MarketSnare Creator Helps Komets Hockey Team Win ECHL Website Award

The Fort Wayne Komets, a minor-league team in the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) Network, recently won the ECHL’s Website Award of Excellence. Pleased with its win, the Komets tweeted, “Special THANKS to @cirrusabs.com for building us a website that just won the ECHL Website of the Year ….” Cirrus ABS, creator of MarketSnare, not only designed and built the site but also hosts it.

It was in June of 2012 that the hockey franchise re-launched Komets.com after Cirrus ABS had given the previous site a new look and easier navigation. The goal was to provide fans and casual visitors with a more engaging experience. Besides that, the Cirrus ABS platform allows the Komets to integrate its online promotional, marketing, and informational efforts with social media in a way it could not do before.

NewSport Media, a Toronto-based production company specializing in TV production, photography, and PR services, judged the competition. It reviewed all ECHL websites, evaluating them for design, mobile readiness, organization, site flow, update frequency, and overall performance. Other finalists included the Bakersfield Condors, the Reading Royals, Toledo Walleye Hockey, and the Utah Grizzlies.
